2001 Ford F-150 Intake Manifold 5.4L Installation Procedure :
1. CAUTION: Do not use metallic scrapers, power abrasive discs or any abrasive means to scrub the sealing surfaces, these instruments cause scratches and gouges that make leak paths. Use a plastic scraper only. Clean all the sealing surfaces.
2. If eliminated, install the water crossover.
3. Install the intake manifold. Place the new intake manifold gaskets. Place the upper intake manifold. Loosely set up 9 bolts.
4. NOTE: The thermostat housing bolts are tightened in sequence with the intake manifold bolts. Do not tighten the thermostat housing bolts throughout thermostat installation. Set up the water thermostat.
5. Tighten the 11 bolts in two levels in the sequence shown. Stage 1: Tighten to 2 Nm (18 lb-in). Stage 2: Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
6. Connect the two radio ignition interference capacitor electrical connectors.
7. Connect the heater hose. Set up the generator. Install and join eight ignition coils. Connect the eight fuel injector electrical connectors.
8. Set up the facility steering reservoir. Position the reservoir. Set up the two lower bolts. Set up the higher bolt.
9. Set up the PCV hose. Install the throttle physique adapter and the 4 bolts. Tighten the bolts in two stages. Stage 1: Tighten to 10 Nm 89 (lb-in). Stage 2: Tighten a further 90 degrees.
10. Install the EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube. Hand-tighten the fittings. Tighten the higher fitting. Tighten the decrease fitting. Join the 2 differential strain feedback EGR sensor hoses.
11. Join the idle air control motor. Connect the gasoline lines. Install the nut. Join the brake booster vacuum line and bracket and install the bolt.
12. Connect the differential stress feedback EGR sensor electrical connector. Join the vapor administration valve vacuum line. Join the gas pressure regulator vacuum line.
13. Connect the throttle position sensor connector and the engine vacuum regulator electrical and vacuum connectors.
14. Connect the EGR valve the primary vacuum harness vacuum connections.
15. Set up the crankcase air flow tube and the IAC fresh air tube.
16. Join the vapor administration hose. Set up the accelerator cable bracket and the bolts.
17. Connect the throttle physique cam. Join the accelerator cable. Join the speed control actuator cable. Set up the throttle return spring.
18. Set up the accelerator cable snow shield and the bolts. Join the upper radiator hose and position the clamp.
19. Install the engine air cleaner and the air cleaner outlet tube.
20. Connect the battery ground cable.
21. Fill and bleed the engine cooling system.
